Institutional support continues to dwindle for sonographer travel and volunteer service time. The ASE Foundation’s newest initiative, cardiovascular sonographer leadership development, aims to combat this by providing support for sonographer members volunteering in leadership positions within ASE and ASEF. Donations to this initiative are used to provide travel stipends for attendance at the ASE Scientific Sessions to help offset that financial barrier. We hope this encourages future sonographer leaders to get involved and lend their voice to the continued growth and development of ASE.
Hear from a few of the initial recipients of this support:
“It is vital in this age of new technologies to learn from leading echocadiographers from around the globe to attend in person meetings like the ASE scientific sessions. Here you not only learn to further your knowledge but network with global echocadiographers. The funds from cardiovascular leadership development helps to subsidize the overall cost of attending such meetings especially for sonographers where institutional support is limited or non existent.” Bharatbhushan Patel RDCS, RVS, RDMS, FASE
“I am filled with pride when I volunteer for ASE. The Cardiovascular Sonographer Leadership Development fund helps me be a part of this organization that understands, and supports, the role sonographers play in cardiology. This support helps me be a part of the Scientific Sessions (the Superbowl of Echo) and to network to continue to grow this career into my passion.” Neha Soni-Patel, MEd, BSME, RCCS, RDCS (AE/PE), FASE
“I was able to enjoy all the Sessions had to offer, participate on panels in the new interactive format, attend important Council and Board meetings, network with my echo family, and learn from great sessions, research and industry innovations. This fund demonstrates that ASE leadership recognizes the important and unique voice sonographer leaders bring to making the ASE mission a reality.” Keith Collins, MS, RDCS, FASE
“The Cardiovascular Sonographer Leadership Development funds have truly enriched my experience at scientific sessions. They have supported my professional growth, connected me with experts in the field, and provided invaluable networking opportunities. Most importantly, they have enabled me to contribute back to our ASE society to support others. This fund means more than financial assistance. It has created a meaningful cycle of support and giving, fostering the development of future professionals in the field. ASE has become a welcoming home for us all!” Lanqi Hua, ACS, APCA, RDCS (AE, PE, FE), MS, FASE |
