Heart disease, including congenital heart disease and stroke, is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States, accounting for 1 in every 4 deaths. Funding in this area will advance the ASE Foundation’s direct outreach efforts to patients, increasing awareness of cardiovascular ultrasound and the crucial role it plays in optimal patient care. These educational efforts strive to empower patients to talk to their medical professionals about the use of cardiovascular ultrasound in their diagnostic plans and ongoing treatment.
